Our Founder
Willis Electrical is a family-owned and operated Texas electrical services company started by Sean Willis in 1998.
Sean entered the industrial electrical industry at Curlee Manufacturing, where his father (John Willis) worked as the company’s president.
In 1990, Sean returned to Curlee after serving in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division.
He worked in various departments, including Inventory Control, Shipping and Receiving, Assembly, and Inside and Outside Sales—Curlee specialized in cast aluminum enclosures and explosion-proof motor starters.
Eight years later, Sean resigned from Curlee and founded Willis Electrical, which then operated exclusively as a manufacturers’ representative organization.
The Willis Electrical Family
Soon after Sean started the company in 1998, his supportive and talented family eagerly joined and contributed to the business.
Angie Willis joined her husband in 2003 to focus on growing the company. In addition to leading the Office Management, Human Resources, and Accounting divisions, she also turned the company into a woman-owned, HUB-certified business!
In 2018, Sean and Angie’s eldest son, Shane, was added to the team’s roster after graduating from the University of Houston with A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He specializes in hazardous area controls and VFD applications.
In recent years, the Willis family business has welcomed the addition of the two younger sons. One of them is Clayton, who pursued higher education and obtained a Bachelor of Administration degrees in both Business Finance and Marketing from the esteemed University of Houston. Armed with his academic background, Clayton has now stepped into the fold of the family enterprise, ready to contribute his expertise in these fields to strengthen the business further.
With this educational foundation, Troy has eagerly embraced his role within the family business, to utilize his business acumen and contribute to its continued growth and success.
Since 1998, several other critical employees have become part of the Willis Electrical family and contributed to the company’s success.

Willis Electrical began as a manufacturers’ representative but has rapidly evolved into a leading Texas electrical services company. Our growth has been driven by long-standing relationships with top-tier vendors and a commitment to delivering value to our customers.
